ASTROLOGY. Michel Gauquelin, a statistician, sought to disprove astrology in the 1970s, but he sort of proved instead that there is an effect that’s like astrology. He called it something like cosmobiology. He found that people with different occupations tended to be born when one planet or another was on the horizon or at the midheaven or the opposite of that. I learned some of the basics of astrology in 1977. It’s not quite the same as cosmobiology, but further research like that of Gauquelin seems likely to prove much of astrology too. I’ve often found that astrology seems to be fairly accurate, but I’ve never found it to be particularly useful, just very interesting. People seem to tend to be born with similar sky patterns to that of one or more of their parents, siblings, or grandparents. I think Gauquelin noticed that. In my case I was born when the Sun was in the same location of the sky that the Moon was when both my parents were born, maybe when my Mom’s Mom was born too.
BIRTH CHARTS. When I started this substack in April, I decided to look up RFK Jr’s natal chart. I always go to https://alabe.com/freechart/ to look up those charts. Before the internet became available, we astrology buffs had to use ephemerides to find the positions of the planets for any particular time. That was a lot of work, but with the Alabe.com webpage it’s very easy. It even gives a reading for each planet’s sign. It also shows the Rising sign, aka the Ascendant, but that’s usually inaccurate, unless you enter the correct time of birth. The Moon’s position is often a little inaccurate, up to 7 degrees, because it moves between about 12 and 14 degrees each day. So if you don’t know the time of birth, the Moon sign may be one sign off and up to 7 degrees off of accurate. The Rising sign (where the eastern horizon was at time of birth) can be up to 180 degrees off, which covers the entire sky via plus or minus. It also helps to know the place of birth, but even if it’s way off, it only reduces the accuracy slightly, less than one degree, although it can greatly affect the Rising sign and house positions.
RFK JR CHART. RFK Jr is said to have been born on Jan. 17, 1954 in Washington, DC. I couldn’t find his time of birth online. Since he seems a little eccentric, I thought he might have a planet in Aquarius, but nope. He has Sun, Mercury, Venus and North Node in Capricorn, nothing in Aquarius. So he has 3 planets in Capricorn and Capricorn normally tends to be pragmatic, conservative worshipers of parents and other authority figures. Ah, but then his Sun is opposed to his Uranus, the ruler of Aquarius. So I searched on <natal sun opposite uranus> and got this webpage: https://astrologyking.com/sun-opposite-uranus/, which I’ll quote below, but first, here’s Alabe’s readings for his Sun and Moon signs.
Sun is in 27 Degrees Capricorn.
Extremely serious and mature, you are capable of accepting responsibilities and do so willingly. Others expect you to be dutiful as a matter of course. You tend to get angry when people get rewards after not having worked anywhere near as hard as you. You are goal-oriented and an achiever by nature -- you're a hard worker and are justifiably proud of the tangible results of your efforts. You tend to have "tunnel-vision" -- this allows you to block out extraneous matters that might distract others and to concentrate totally on the matter at hand. As such, you are the ideal one to manage or administrate any ongoing project and to be practical and efficient at it. You are not a fast worker, but you are quite thorough. You are known for being totally persistent, tenacious and tireless in reaching your goals.
Moon is {between 3 and 17} Degrees Cancer.
For the most part, you are very strong and secure emotionally. You intuitively know what to do to make others feel comfortable, loved, accepted and needed. You naturally enjoy feeding and taking care of others. Be careful that your mothering does not turn into smothering. At times, you tend to feel that those to whom you are attached can never do anything without your assistance and support. Extremely sensitive by nature, it hurts you deeply whenever anyone criticizes you. You have an almost desperate need to be loved and wanted and needed by everyone with whom you come into contact, and you go out of your way to be accommodating to them.
Now this is the reading from https://astrologyking.com/sun-opposite-uranus/ for his natal Sun opposite Uranus.
Sun opposite Uranus natal makes you intelligent, cosmopolitan, intensely modern, and futuristic, with a zest to experience life to the fullest. Although you can be cocky, eccentric and controversial, you are also private, gentle, considerate, and unselfish. But above all else, you are fiercely independent and freedom-loving. Early in life, your struggle for independence can relate to a battle to explore your individuality and personality.
This inner struggle for individualism can result in a skittish temperament, inhibition, nervousness, and anxiety. And this can often be made worse by an unsettling upbringing full of change and uncertainty. Sudden change can be a struggle. Learning to adapt to change will help you feel less disconnected. You may even develop a talent for imposing order on chaos.
Obstinacy and a solid need to do things your way can lead to rebelliousness, a chaotic life, and trouble with authority figures. The more you are told what to do, restricted or disciplined, the more you are likely to rebel, take the opposite view, or do the opposite of what you were told.
Your need for independence and making decisions in your own time can also be at odds with your desire for a more stable environment and harmonious relationships. Being outspoken, eccentric, or abrupt means, you must deal with the consequences when your destructive impulses burst out. This can include strong reactions from the people that you upset, separations and accidents.
You may improvise along the way, but defining and confidently expressing your unorthodox individuality is critical to gaining self-confidence and courage. This process is made much easier with supportive parents and teachers.
You are hard-working and probably willing to take any job when young to work your way up. You may love performing but are unlikely to be an exhibitionist when not on stage. The friends you make are likely to also be unorthodox in some way or from different ethnic or cultural backgrounds.
You will likely develop a strong libertarian streak, a distrust of power, and a keen sense of political and social justice. An interest in activism is common with this aspect, especially related to gender, human rights, championing the freedom of each individual, and the equal importance of each individual. You could also be a nationalist and a revolutionary.
His natal Sun is also square his Neptune. The following reading is from https://astrologyking.com/sun-square-neptune/.
Sun square Neptune natal creates many battles you must overcome to feel strong and confident about yourself. Because you are such a sensitive and caring person, it is easy for you to fall victim to injustices. Defeats and disappointments will further erode your self-esteem and confidence. Without taking corrective action, you could become very confused, alienated, paranoid, or dependent on drugs or alcohol. {He said he was an alcoholic till age 28.}
You will be forced to deal with your weak spots from an early age. Because of your insecurities and gullibility, stronger people will bully or try to deceive you. Others may have trouble trusting you or feel you are up to no good. This is not the case, but when young, you can have this perception of guilt. You wear a label around your neck saying, “Pick on me” or “I’m guilty.”
Hesitation, misinterpretation, and false accusations can make you more susceptible to discrimination, controversy, and scandal. To rectify these problems, you must go into battle. At some stage, you will be backed into a corner and forced to stand up for yourself and fight, which is critical to strengthening your self-image and confidence.
Taking up the fight and battling against the odds will probably be a lifestyle for you. There is much you can do because you are deeply affected by the plight of the oppressed. You may fight for causes or against censorship, discrimination in all forms, drugs, or crime. You may be subject to betrayal and victimization, so you are well-equipped to help the world’s underdogs.
Becoming so involved in social causes or charitable organizations means you will have to confront many of your fears and phobias and deal with delusion, deception, subversion, and misrepresentation. Maintaining your own robust set of morals and ideals will go a long way to helping you win your battles.
Improving your inner strength and removing self-doubt are also crucial to physical health. You may be more susceptible to infection and contamination and experience misdiagnosis, infection, neurosis, and general weakness. Extra care is required around water, gasses, poisons, medication {flu vaccine?}, recreational drugs, and alcohol.
Another trick for improving your self-image is using mirrors and cameras. Although others may find you strange, or you may become involved in controversies and scandals, this adds to your mysterious appeal. You are alluring and mesmerizing; people will want to know your story.
People with Sun square Neptune can excel in creative and entertainment careers such as music, literature, poetry, and the stage and screen. Standing up for others can lead to a career in social or charity work, politics, or activism. Interest in all things spiritual comes with this aspect, but care must be taken with the darker psychic realms, gurus, and religious cults.
All of that sounds like the kind of leader the world needs. However, I think we need to have a backup plan, in case our leader gets detoured.
