I SECOND THE MOTION TO START A NEW PARTY & I PROPOSE THAT IT BE BASED ON CONSENSUS
RFK Jr declared as an independent candidate some months back. This is an opportunity to start a corruption-free New Party. As inspired by Lloyd Sloan, we could call a new party (for RFKJ) the Equality and Freedom Party, or something like that, because power in society needs to be distributed more equally to all, with freedom from oppression for all.
WHAT ABOUT STRUCTURE? REMEMBER OCCUPY WALL STREET (OWS)?
According to {some sources} ... the Occupy Wall Street movement ... used a modified consensus process, where participants attempted to reach consensus and then dropped to a 9/10 vote if consensus was not reached(1). This process was used by the general assembly, which was the main OWS decision-making body(1). The consensus process was also influenced by the online collective, {called} Anonymous, which had a role in organizing and supporting the movement(2).

OWS had the right idea, striving for 100% consensus, but settling for a minimum of 90%. If we truly want Equality for all, then everyone's voice needs to be heard. Majority Rule ignores the minority, no matter how large, up to nearly 50%. That's not how to achieve Equality, is it?
CONSENSUS DEMOCRACY: SOCIOCRACY
There is now a scientifically-developed method for achieving true consensus and Equality, called Sociocracy or Holacracy.
_Sociocracy is used by a variety of groups worldwide, most commonly in Europe and the Americas(1). Here are some of the main types of groups that use sociocracy:
_Intentional Communities: Many cohousing groups and ecovillages use sociocracy(1). These are communities created with the intention of living a shared lifestyle, often based on common values or goals(1).
_Nonprofits: Some nonprofit organizations use sociocracy(1). These are organizations that use their income to achieve their goals rather than distributing it as profit or dividends(1).
_Cooperative Workplaces: Worker cooperatives or non-hierarchical workplaces also use sociocracy(1). These are workplaces where workers have a say in the decision-making process, often owning and managing the business(1).
_Schools: Some schools use sociocracy(1). This can help create a more democratic and inclusive environment(1).
_Small Groups: Sociocracy can be used in a meaningful way in small organizations(2). Small groups can use all the practices of sociocracy as usual, such as aims/domains, consent, meetings, operational and process roles, feedback processes, and selection process(2).
_Businesses: Sociocracy became well known as an effective management practice in the Netherlands, and is now used worldwide in some businesses(3).
_Every organization is a little different, and every organization has its unique advantages and challenges(2). So, it’s important to tailor the implementation of sociocracy to the specific needs and context of your organization or community(2).

How well has Majority Rule worked out for the U.S.? Not well at all, if you notice the degree of Corruption in the U.S. and the world. It's pretty easy for power abusers to use propaganda techniques to persuade a majority of the people to accept their views. 51% majority rule is the most abusive percentage. 99% is least abusive. It's hard to reach 100%; however, it's not hard to come up with proposals that no one reasonedly objects to, especially if groups making decisions are not too large. No-objections decision making is doable. That's Sociocracy.
If RFK Jr is a real Progressive, he should easily be persuaded that adopting consensus throughout government is the way to end abuse of power. Majority rule in legislatures won't change easily, but if we start a new political party, it would be much easier to adopt consensus there. And if the party is successful, that would show that consensus is effective and could be increasingly adopted in government at all levels.
If we want real change for the good in our world, such as maybe by electing RFK Jr, do we not owe it to ourselves to find the most effective ways to organize and do activism? That' Sociocracy IMO.
