EQUALITY-FREEDOM PARTY?
{Lloyd Sloan wrote the following to RFKJ Michigan state coordinator, Laurie. And I think he mostly gave me permission to quote him.}
I was on the Zoom call last Thursday 2023 Oct 26. You volunteered to serve as my contact for two questions I posed.
Questions for the campaign:
1. Do we know the order/priority of state petition drives?
2. Has any consideration been given to adding other names on the petition as candidates for U.S. House/Senate races?
(It costs the same to put 20 names as 2 names on a petition.)
2a. If this was rejected, why?
(Perot tried the one-man-show approach in 1992. Later realized a new party was needed)
Dr Lora Chamberlain advised no other candidates on the petition
[LTS: What awful advice. I could not disagree more strongly.]
I was MO CD2 coordinator for Ron Paul 2012 campaign (caucus system, RP beat Romney and Santorum statewide; they combined at convention)
I was an actuary and IT executive for a major life insurance company, Harvard {grad} 1978, economics/mathematics. Did not know RFKJ at school. He graduated before I arrived. {MY COMMENT: As a Harvard grad, maybe he thinks he’s better than me & us.}
Lastly, some RFKJ Campaign Management Thoughts:
1. Good to leave the donkey-elephant two-party mess (it has failed too long)
(RFKJ is ahead of Ron Paul, and Bernie, and many others in this regard)
My concern: Not enough explanation as to WHY this was needed.
(So please keep reading. The campaign needs more FOCUS.)
2. "We're gonna need a bigger boat" (i.e. we need a new party)
One-Man-Show Ross Perot 1992 is NOT the path. It is a dead-end.
(Perot figured this out by 1996, too late;
I question even that Ross had enough "vision" for a new party. He wanted to be USA CEO)
Better examples:
Wallace 1968 (American party, last "third party" to win electors)
Teddy Roosevelt 1912 (Progressive party, last third party to finish second. Taft was third)
If the campaign remains a one-man show, it fails the nation.
3. Petition drive will require the V.P. choice (obvious)
It costs the same to put 20 names as to put 2 names on a ballot
THE BETTER APPROACH:
Find hundreds of other "RFKJ independents" to petition on the ballot for U.S. House, Senate, etc ____{MY COMMENT: Sounds like LaRouche's campaigns. Good idea.}
It is far easier to elect an "independent" Congress than to make the current members independent
Frankly, if the campaign cannot find 500 quality candidates who agree substantially, what's the point?
(The next point defines what "agree substantially" means)
4. A new party needs a few (at most three?) core issues
These issues MUST be:
1) popular with most Americans
At least a plurality support in a 3-way race, a majority is obviously best
2) NOT supported currently by donkeys-elephants
Best if they are likely to NEVER support
Examples:
a. FREEZE (Cap) the total USGov spending at current levels until the budget is balanced ____{MY COMMENT: I disagree with this. It's already a Repbulican issue and is irrelevant anyway. What's more relevant is ending the black budget IMO.}
b. End the empire (U.S. out of NATO, No more undeclared open-ended wars)
c. Abolish taxes on the poor and middle. ONLY the rich should pay taxes (ideally a wealth tax) ____{MY COMMENT: Yes, those who have benefited the most should be glad to share, like they pretended when income taxes were first imposed illegally.}
d. Hostile audit of the Federal Reserve (100% transparency of all transactions within one month) ____{MY COMMENT: I don't think this should have a high priority. It's also another Republican issue, though I agree with the need for govt transparency via audits etc.}
e. No more lockdowns or vaccine mandates for adults ____{MY COMMENT: No more vax mandates for ANYONE.}
f. End all corporate welfare, Replace all other welfare with negative income tax etc, ____{MY COMMENT: What's negative income tax? Is that government subsidies?}
but LIMITED TO TOP THREE (general observation of human nature and focus) ____{MY COMMENT: That would leave b, c, and e. F could be combined with c.}
Identifying the first requirement requires POLLING (expert, not half-assed) ____{MY COMMENT: What's the first requirement? Leaving the 2-party mess?}
A campaign without quality polling is inefficient at best, amateur and clueless at worst
Take note: THESE issues FLUNK the second requirement. ____{MY COMMENT: What's the second requirement? Same as the first?}
Take whatever position you like (the center is likely best here)
BUT THESE ARE NOT A BASIS FOR A NEW PARTY/INDEPENDENT RACE
Abortion: important to many people, but donkeys-elephants DISAGREE here (most)
Climate change (global warming)
Transgender LGBTQ (whatever)
The KEY insight and opportunity/need for a new party is to move in an UPPER-LEFT direction
The upper-left direction meets BOTH requirements above
This diagram shall explain the concept.

In summary, the E-F (Equality-Freedom) political map is: ____{MY COMMENT: You need a focus group to help explain or improve that map.}
1. The most important insight I ever had about politics
2. The KEY to understanding where the opportunity lies for a new "independent" party
3. The explanation why a MAJORITY of Americans say they want a new party (they are upper-left)
{MY COMMENT: I then suggested to Lloyd that the new party be called Equality-Freedom Party. He said interesting. Now, speaking to my readers, what do you think?}
